Pet Partners Instructor Course

Welcome
Thank you for your interest in becoming a Pet Partners Instructor for Delta Society! The training and evaluation process to become an Instructor is a multifaceted process. This enables Delta Society to select qualified instructors and empowers instructors to be thoroughly prepared to teach the course. This document outlines the steps necessary to become Pet Partners Instructor.

Three major steps to becoming a licensed Pet Partners Instructor:

Step 1: Prerequisites

  1. Complete the Pet Partners Team Training course.
  2. Must be a current registered Pet Partner with two years visit experience in two different environments.
  3. Minimum of 100 visit hours, verified and signed by facilities served on the Pet Partners Instructor Qualification form.
  4. Review Pet Partners Instructor Policies and Procedures.
  5. Complete Instructor Qualification and Registration forms and submit to Delta Society with the computer based training (CBT) fee of $145. The Instructor materials and the instructions for taking the computer based training (CBT) will be shipped to you.

Step 2: Course Work

  1. Complete the Pet Partners Instructor computer based training (CBT) within three months of course registration. You must pass the online exam with a minimum of 80 percent.
  2. Delta will notify you of your pass / fail status and next steps.

Step 3: Instructor Acceptance Materials

After you have completed and met all the requirements, Delta will send your Instructor acceptance materials so that you can begin teaching in your community!
