Community Fairs & Events
With the arrival of Spring and Summer, many communities and organizations request Delta Society's participation in their events. We are happy to accommodate these requests when we can. Mainly, the participation of Delta Society is contingent on the availability of Pet Partners to staff our booth. When we receive a request to participate in an event, the first step is to send an email out to all Pet Partners in the area, and if enough teams are available to fill in the time slots, then we sign up. Also, at least one, preferably more, of the Pet Partners participating in the event needs to help out with materials - allowing that the materials be shipped to their home or place of business, getting the materials to the event, and then getting them shipped back. If someone contacts us asking us to participate in an event and the event is taking place the next week during a regular working day, there is a good chance we won't be able to participate, but we'll do our best to let our Pet Partners know the event is taking place, in case one of you wants to take the lead in participating in the event - we will do our best to accommodate. The best thing to do is contact Jill,(425-679-5511) if you are interested in participating in an event, or if you know of an event you'd like us to post. All current Pet Partners with valid email addresses will receive a notice about upcoming events. If you are wondering if we have a correct email address for you, send us an email with your name and ID # and we'll check on it.

YOUTH OF PROMISE OPEN HOUSE REGISTRATION and VOLUNTEER TRAINING NIGHT
Wednesday, APRIL 25, 2007 4 to 7 P.M.
Nature’s Edge Therapy Center Inc. is offering a “Youth of Promise” program for ten weeks this summer. The program will run Mondays and Fridays, June 11 through August 20. We are looking for participants between the ages of 12 to 18 that may have various difficulties. Those difficulties might include poor grades, depression, alcohol and/or drug abuse, frequent outburst of anger, inappropriate behavior, family conflicts, or difficulty with social interactions. The youth will work very close with well trained staff and volunteers in small groups on several different projects. The projects include arts & crafts, woodworking, horticulture & landscaping, small animal grooming/training, and large animal grooming/training. On the evening of April 25 from 4 to 7p.m. an open house will be held for the community to come and view some of the past projects that have been completed, and some the future activities in the program. This program provides an opportunity for the youths to learn responsibility, socialization skills, and leadership skills with a motivational and natural environment. The program is offered to the surrounding areas, in corporation with local schools and businesses. The program is a small cost of $200, but if funding is unavailable scholarships are available based on financial eligibility. The program ends with a trip to Valley Fair which is included with the $200 fee.
If this program strikes an interest and sounds like it would benefit you or someone you know or if you have any questions please contact Mitchell Demers or Becky Lundeen at 715.859.6670 or visit our website at www.naturesedgetherapycenter.org. Nature’s Edge Therapy Center is located 5 miles east of Cameron just off County Road M.
